Description

Now and again we have batches of cheese that simply aren't up to the standard we want.

So while the look and texture of the cheese isn't right, the flavour can still be good.

This current batch of Blue Cooking Cheese is Fleet Valley Blue. It's a tasty cheese, firm and almost like a mild cheddar, but it's very much lacking in the 'blue' department.

With only a few blue veins this particular batch it doesn’t carry much blue flavour at all. We think it would work well in sauces, melted on burgers, making cheese scones and as cheese on toast, but probably not so good for adding blue-cheese flavour to tarts or quiches.

When we have Blue Cooking Cheese available it will be either Fleet Valley Blue, which is made with unpasteurised milk, or Barlocco Blue, which is made with pasteurised milk. Our blue cheese is best enjoyed within 4 weeks.

Your cheese order will be delivered in Woolcool packaging, a system of eco-friendly insulated packaging made from sheep’s wool. This packaging keeps our cheeses below  5oC  for 48 hours so that they reach you perfectly chilled and ready to enjoy. Cheeses are sent using a next day delivery courier service, however occasionally delivery can be delayed. If you receive your cheese a day later than expected, the cheese will be absolutely fine. The Sorba-freeze ice packs we use are reusable, they can be dehydrated (on a radiator) and rehydrated with water and refrozen.

We dispatch orders twice a week, on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. For same week delivery, please place your order by 1pm on Tuesday.

You can schedule your delivery in advance, although some products, such as Garnie, have restricted dispatch windows.
